What is it?
Alberta has invested in additional classroom complexity supports to help schools respond to increasingly diverse learning, behavioural, and classroom needs. The initiative provides additional school-based supports, improved access to specialized supports, and targeted training to help educators respond to increasingly complex classroom environments.

How can We help?
With Alberta’s continued investment in classroom complexity supports, many districts are planning how to translate additional staffing, intervention capacity, and professional learning into meaningful instructional impact. Pearson resources can support this work by helping educators deliver curriculum-aligned math instruction, identify readiness needs, provide targeted numeracy intervention, and create a more consistent approach across diverse and complex classrooms.

From Screening to Measurable Growth
Alberta’s early literacy and numeracy screening helps identify students who need additional support, but meaningful impact comes from how schools respond.
To improve outcomes, screening data should drive:
- Targeted instruction and intervention
- Strategic resource use
- Ongoing progress monitoring
We support schools in turning screening insights into clear, actionable next steps, helping educators deliver targeted support and demonstrate measurable student growth.
