Teaming with Mr. Cool! is a reader’s theatre script for six characters with cross-curricular links to language arts. Farmer Joe and Farmer Jack have had it with Cool Coyote’s thieving ways, but when they finally catch him, they don’t know what to do with him! The poem “Me, Myself, and I” and the song “Cool Coyote” are included in the script. The book also includes tips on rehearsing and performing reader’s theatre. The script uses easy, everyday language. The roles reflect a range of reading levels to facilitate broad participation.
The traditional script format is enhanced by different coloured type for each character tag. Illustrations support the text. Question marks, exclamation marks, quotation marks, ellipses, and colons are used. Voice directions are given in italic in parentheses.
Potentially new words, such as clobber, commotion, culprit, fate, gorged, intruder, macho, scoundrel, and superb are defined in the glossary.
