Glen Aikenhead is a recognized international expert on scientific literacy and Indigenous ways of understanding natural phenomena. Working with Herman Michell he has developed Bridging Cultures to aid science teachers, at all grades and for all science courses, to understand and include Indigenous knowledge of the physical world into school science programs. By including Indigenous students’ cultures and their relationship to science into the science classroom, teachers have a powerful set of tools to also engage Indigenous students in science.
