In the latest version of Spark Reading, you'll notice a few changes and improvements. Let's look briefly at the student site. Instead of a tab called My Book Box, there is a tab called From My Teacher, which shows all the books a teacher has assigned to this student. So students no longer need to send books to their book box before reading them. The tally of books read overall and books read this month now counts all the books a student has read, including multiple reads, whether the books were assigned by the teacher or selected from the library. The only difference is that books students open from the library won't show the interactive activities. In the library, the Find Books filters now appear on the left. In terms of book features, students now have the same annotation tools that teachers have. Now let's look at the teacher site. At the top right, you have the option to display the interface in either English or French. On the Library tab, the filters appear on the left. Two new filters are Language, which lets you find either English books or French books, and Decodable, which allows you to find books that support phonics instruction. In addition to these changes, books also load faster and the search functionality has been improved. There are also two new tabs: Collections and Teachers. The Collections tab shows any collection of books that you have created and saved. To create a collection, select books from the library and then click Add Books to Collection. Once you have a collection, you can click Assign Collection to send it to any of your students. The Teachers tab allows you to add co-teachers to your class. Finally, let's look at the Students tab. You can now import students from Google Classroom. You can also access all student passwords in one document by clicking Class Summary. For individual students, you can select View Student to access their view to see exactly what that student sees. In a student's dashboard, you can now see whether a student has read a book multiple times. Thanks for watching this video about what's new in Spark Reading.
