look first at the student books and then

they contain and what supports are
available for them and for you as a
teacher first let's look at the
mythology little books starting with
some basic facts there are 72 books in
total that span kindergarten through
grade three-lap books are available for
kindergarten titles all books are
available in English and French and in
print and digital formats the collection
includes fiction and nonfiction with
many titles written by indigenous
authors two other facts to note these
books are math first the content in each
book reflects math curriculums across
the country at that grade so you'll find
they reflect your curriculum with an
approximate 75 percent match the books

are based on the pearson mathematics
learning progression there are 13 big
ideas in the progression spread out over
five strands as shown on this handy

simple to more complex this allows you

added and subtracted to determine how
many or how much you can see the
development of the big idea through the

prevalent in early grades gradually
diminishing by grades two and three
conversely later big ideas are typically
more prevalent at the higher grades each
