Introduction welcome to Mythology CA today I'm gonna give you a short walk through of some of the features that will support you with learning at home mythology ta is a teacher facing tool that helps support math instruction from k23 although designed for use in the classroom today I'm going to show you some ways to use it at home let's start Search with the search here I can put in any key word I'll use addition hit the search button and all of your options will come up then I can narrow it down by grade today I'm in grade 1 I'll narrow it down even further by looking for a little book and even further by searching for number here now I see all the little books that are related to addition I can go back using the back button and search by curriculum this Curriculum time here when I click on search by curriculum I can go into grade 1 go into the overall expectation that I'm looking for and then go into the specifics by hitting the magnifying glass here I see 10 results for this specific expectation both as little books as you see in the tag as well as activities as you see in this tag this time I'm going to go back instead of using the arrow I'm going to use the home button either way it takes you back to the same page I'm going to start by going into a little book and give you a peek at what that might look like when you look at the little book you have a quick summary of about the story you see the math focus and the curriculum being met by using this story if I scroll back up to the top and go to the details tab here I get access to the story itself if I click on the story I can share the link with my students and they can read or listen to the story this is really helpful to meet all the needs of the students in my class by hitting on the audio button the story can be read to them Scott likes his he likes his customers today there is a sale on berries blueberries and raspberries our today's special I'm gonna go back to mythology and here I can see some tips for things I might want to encourage my students to do as they go through that story and also some questions I may ask before the story begins that can be found right at the bottom if I scroll back up to the top and go to the related resources here's where I find on my line masters all of the line masters are available in PDF or in Word if you're looking to modify them when I click on the PDF I have access to the letter that can go home for parents and guardians here this letter accompanies the book and has some additional activities that they can do at home we also have some games available in the PDFs if I click on this one for example here you see the Barry card game and this is a great one to recreate at home have your students cut up a piece of paper into ten cards and draw the berries themselves that way you don't need to rely on a printer if I go back up to the top I also want to show you some of the problems we have if I click on a PDF here are the problems that accompany this story to give students the opportunity to practice this thinking a little bit more on their own again all of those are available in a PDF or in word if you'd like to modify for the needs of your class I'm gonna go back to the home tab and Details this time I'm going to go into an activity if I click on the activity this activity focuses on decomposing to ten again the same structures here in the about tab where you quickly learn about the lesson and the curriculum that's being met by using this activity in the details tab right at the top you see the line masters that accompany this lesson again in PDF and in Word in case you need to modify the instructions are here where you can quickly take a read and then rewrite it for the needs of your students there's also some tips for how to differentiate right here at the top if you scroll down there's images of the pools and this is another perfect example of a card that can be recreated at home by students either using two pools or three pools challenge your students to draw their very favorite pool at the bottom you've got the interactive tools this is really helpful if you're teaching virtually in addition to in-class here you can drag out the counters if you're meeting with small groups of students to help illustrate what you're talking about as you go through the lesson I'm going Related Resources to go back and scroll right up to the top where you see the assessment tab that I'm not going to talk about today but I encourage you to check it out yourself then in the related resources tab we have mini lessons for those students that need to continue that learning both on grade through an intervention or an extension the drop-down arrow allows you to access a mini lesson as well as some additional practice here you've got a print button or you can reword it for the needs of your class the last thing I want to focus on is the next steps at home just like the stories have parent letters accompanying each one the activities do as well in the next steps at home you'll find the parent letter that you're able to send home as they continue thinking about composing and decomposing note that this particular lesson is matching that little book where they continue to work on that concept I'm going to scroll back up to the top note that there are professional learning videos in the drawer on the right hand side if you're looking for a little bit more information for yourself the final thing I'm going to walk you through is the plan here you can search all plans and go down to the sample plans that have been pre-populated for you if I go to the grade one sample long-range plan here I can use this sample plan to adjust change the sequence add or remove lessons if I go back home that's all I'm going to show you for today as you can see the teacher facing tool is a great support for learning at home while we're there so have fun and go check it out
