so today we're going to talk about uh supporting math learning at school and at home i'm going to give you an overview of planning and differentiation and how it works in terms of the learning progression the math little books and the activities that will be coming in the fall um so like i mentioned earlier on this is a sneak peak of grade three currently you do have access to the little books but you won't have access to the activities i will be showing you a sample activity today and what that looks like but i will encourage you to check out mathology.ca and maybe sign up for grade two in the meantime and get familiar with what it looks like um because many of the features and functionalities will be the same in grade three so we'll take a look at that quick thing if your poll is still showing just click the red box and it will close on you perfect so over the last three months we've had open access to the little books and the parent letters and that holds true for k-3 um in english and in french as well as open access to mathology.ca now currently um k123 books are available in dot ca um and the activities for grade one and grade two and we'll talk about that um but that will be coming to an end shortly june 30th and i'll show you how to get access if you haven't already done so in addition we're going to be talking about the digital components and then what will exist in print for grade three so mathology is a group of resources or a family of resources as we like to call it that will go from k-8 currently we've got k-3 available and across the bottom you see all the research that went into place before mathology was built a research document that you can google the learning progression that i will unpack a little bit of today the professional learning resources that you may already be familiar with but these all contributed to our understanding our better understanding of math development across the early grades and so that's why we began with the early grades you'll see on the top left we begin with mathology little books and those are available from k to three and i'll give you a sneak peek of what those look like if you're not already familiar the activity kits that will be available for one to three in both english and in french come the fall um for grade three and then mathology.ca which will be k to three come the fall so let's go and take a look so the math learning progression is a compilation of all learning progressions trajectories um not all but many across north america that have been used as well as curriculum documents so this really takes all of those and created what we call the learning progression for pearson and it talks about how mathematics develops over time how that knowledge and that skill will develop over time and it's organized into the strands that you're probably very familiar with and then sub categorized into big ideas conceptual threads and indicators and it was developed by dr lynn mcgarvey at the university of alberta so it's great to have some um documentation that comes from canada to help inform canadian classrooms and so this is what it looks like the strand that you're seeing here today is number with the big idea that quantities and numbers can be added and subtracted to determine how many or how much and you'll see that it's been subdivided into two conceptual threads that you see with the blue banners both into the conceptual meaning of addition and subtraction and then into fluency of addition and subtraction and as you see on the far left side that's where those ideas will begin early in k and they will develop over time into grade 3 concepts that you see on the very right hand side and so today when we think about planning often we think about planning with a learning progression in mind we have kids in our classrooms with lots of different abilities and so we it's really helpful to know where they're coming from and where they'll be going to uh come september or even come tomorrow so in the fall we field tested uh grade three and so what we did was we sent it out to teachers across canada and we gathered feedback we wanted to know what works in your classroom what can you tell us to make it better and so this was really classroom tested to make sure that we develop math lessons that are helping to meet curriculum requirements that help teachers recognize those student strategies and identify next steps for learning it moves those students along the progression of learning like you saw with the learning progression it supports that range of classroom settings today i see that there's a lot of combined grades in here and so it's been developed to really support that component because we know that it's very common to have those combined classrooms across canada it's been developed to build a strong core knowledge of foundational skills as well as engaging kids at all different levels while working on building confidence and so these lessons will be really easy to differentiate and i'll focus on some of those ways to do that today on the right hand side you see mathology.ca will be the main um home i suppose for all of the materials we tested a classroom kit if you're already familiar with grade one and grade two there were two kits in grade one and grade two in grade three we're going to have one kit and i'll talk about how it might differ um and then the math little books that you may be familiar with already and then mathmat so we'll talk about that in a little more detail so the books themselves there are 18 fiction and non-fiction little books um that are that are accompanied by teacher guides if you purchase in print and then five little books that accompany them in addition we've got the activity kit the main difference here is that the teacher notes and the teacher information is going to be housed in mathology.ca and the kit itself will be to provide the um student cards and so these are laminated student cards that will be reused throughout units and across units to help students be able to interact with that mathematics and talk about it in a little more depth in the bottom right corner you see the math mats and it's not necessarily a new component if you're familiar with grade one and two you might know them as the multi-use cards but what we've done is to make a little more space in the box we've actually pulled them out and bound them so they're coil bound laminated uh and the students are able to write on them and this was a a big love for the teachers that feel tested it for us they love the ability for students to show their thinking in a safe space that allowed them to risk take without fear of making a mistake because you could just wipe it off actually we saw many students go ahead and wipe it off as easily with their hands as they were with a tissue so they really loved that piece and so there's about 40 of them and this will be a combined grade all the tools that you need from grade 3 and grade 4 will be available in that math mat package and so let's start with the little books i'll dive a little bit more into each component the little books are built along a learning pathway here at the top you see our big idea in this case again its quantities and numbers can be added and subtracted to determine how many and how much and so up here we see at the very top these are grade two stories and as they develop along the pathway the ideas or the concepts get a little more complex where you move from solving some problems to two-digit addition to adding subtracting to a hundred and then up to a thousand as you move along the pathway and down here you'll see one of our grade three stories i'm going to focus on this grade three story today planting seeds that talks about adding and subtracting to 1000 and it's the beginnings of the development of multiplication so there are 72 titles across k to 3 and so here today we're going to focus on the grade 3 story so these stories have been written to help support you with differentiation uh they're very flexible they can use that lots of different times i've heard teachers using it during language as introductions to mathematics or just as two-page spreads to have a math talk the engagement levels are fantastic and so in grade 3 we have 15 titles in grade 3 and it's organized by big ideas in mathematics and so in the other grades uh it might range by the amount of titles but in grade 3 we've got 15. and there are two to four stories in every grade that include an indigenous connection that was written by canadian indigenous authors and educators across canada and then all of these stories were adapted for french so time for you to do some talking take a second to look at the image and in the chat i'm going to ask you to answer this question what math do you see so you've got a second and just pop that into the chat it's your chance to talk so lots of comments about arrays and oh lots of different things skip counting multiplication groups of models comparing size grouping so many different ways to talk about the pictures that are here oh data we had some of that the other day too really thinking about that data collection cross-curricular to science absolutely so if you're anything like me you're thinking about growing veggies these days this is a great way to spark some of that conversation this is a grade three story but of course i'm sure as a grade two teacher you can see your um your content reflected in here and i'm sure as a grade four teacher you see it a little bit as well um so the ability to be able to take some of that addition as early as equal groups and repeated edition and then extend it into arrays and you've got pictorial representations as well as numeric representations so this is a great way to start some of those conversations from there we move into the activity kit i mentioned that if you're familiar with grade one and two there are two boxes but in grade three we're going to have one box and so in grade three we really worked on lots of the same similar principles we wanted it to be really engaging colorful bright laminated so that students could write on them double-sided for differentiation but another piece that we wanted to do because it's limited to one box is that we wanted to be able to go back and revisit this card so although you see it as an exploring multiplication card you will be revisiting this card in other lessons or in other units and you might be inspired to revisit this card in other aspects of mathematics that we may not have already thought of so in the box there are 30 of these double-sided cards and each one of them comes with 10 copies and again this will all be adapted for french probably early 2021. as for the math mattes um i already mentioned some of those but i just want to highlight some of the other cards that you'll see things like place value mats or grid paper um spinners addition and multiplication charts uh when we field tested it teachers came back and talked to us about the tools that they thought would be really helpful across grade three and four and so those have been incorporated we have 40 different math tools in the grade 3 4 coil bound booklet again all laminated that the students can reuse over and over again so where can you access uh the little books so far and then where can you get a sneak peek of mathology.ca so currently there's open access like i mentioned as of june 30th that will no longer be available so if you haven't had a chance to check it out um i'd recommend that you go ahead and do so you can check out all of those little books for grade three available now at pearsoncanada.ca backslash at home and that's where you can register for open access as well so this is what the page looks like when you um go and check it out here on the right hand side you see kindergarten but just below it will be grade one grade two and grade three and here you can toggle between english and french if you're looking for access to the french stories as well and each one of those will have a parent letter attached to them at the same place you're able to get access to mathology.ca and although the grade three lessons are not yet in there um the grade three books are but the grade three lessons are not yet there i would encourage you to go and check out grade two in the meantime and i'll give you a walk through of what that looks like in addition we know that we're always thinking about meeting the curriculum expectations and so correlations have been written and will be written and revised to reflect all the little books and the activity kit um so that you're able to see yourselves in your own provinces reflected and meeting those particular expectations that you need so let's go into mathology.ca for those of you who are unfamiliar it's a tool that allows you to more easily search plan teach assess and track and some professional learning opportunities all in one space what we've done is taken all the books and all the cards and we put them in a digital platform and so i'm going to show you each one of these functionalities and then i'll show you a peek of the grade 3 lesson and so if i go in here i'll show you how to search first and then i'll go into the grade 3 lesson so the first thing with searching is that you can search in three ways perhaps because we've been talking about multiplication i may search by multiplication if i hit search i can then narrow it down by my grade grade three and my type right now if you narrow it down by activity there'll be none but you can get access to the little books right now and so these three little books will be building on the understanding of multiplication and you can narrow it down of course even further by strand if you go back to the back arrow you're also able to search by curriculum today i'm in the ontario account so i'm going to go in and as we speak you cannot search by the curriculum although all of the books have been tagged to the curriculum but come the fall that will be something that you'll be able to search by for now i'm going to go into grade 2 just so you have a sense of what it looks like the overall expectation is here and i can click on that and then just click on the magnifying glass and here i'll see the stories that relate to that particular expectation or that outcome depending on what problems you're in so once you've selected a lesson you can either pin it here or you can access it through the search i'm going to go into the grade 3 lesson itself and show you what that looks like so for now you don't have access to it but it is a sample that i have to show you today and so each one of them will be set up very similar to grade two here the about lesson um is right there right at the top here we've loosened up on the activity times we know every math class varies and so you're going to see either one day worth of lesson or two days and the group size that you're going to see to help you organize your lesson you've got content background that will be available the math focus that's going to be in there as well as curriculum uh currently we haven't added it in but we will be and so i'll give you a sense of the grade two right after this just so you can see how it compares you've also got the learning progression that's highlighted and so for those of you that are looking for where students come from and where they'll be going to the blue is highlighted for what's being met by using this activity in the details tab you see the activity itself at the top you see any accompanying line masters that might be needed and so for those of you who are not familiar with grade two each one of them has been set up with the before working on it section and then consolidation and so we've been talking about differentiated support it's built in right there for you and so all of these a little bit different than grade two you're going to be able to click on them so you might have some conversations about some student drawings that we may be incorporating in or you may have a conversation about the multiplication you see in these traffic lights or along this number line so you'll see a variety of different representations and ways to have conversations about that mathematics and then the working on it the lesson itself will be projectable so you can project this for your students to see um and then they can go ahead and work on this activity what else can i point out for you the consolidation is going to be here just the same way but you also have access to two new components and these pieces are exclusive to grade three so far when we talked to grade three teachers we heard things like um we're looking for a little bit of practice to help make sure that students have consolidated this skill as well as exit tickets so it's just one or two questions um that give you a sense of whether they were able to un understand this concept or you might need to spend a second day on this idea so here if i click on the exit ticket you're able to see the question that you might use as a ticket out the door before students are able to move on to the next lesson available in pdf and in word so that you can modify it if you need to as well as practice so they'll be independent practice pages i suppose you could use them in pairs as well if that's something you're looking for but especially in a time like this where students are learning from home this is a nice way to get them to continue some of that learning independently as you finish the lesson so you've got brandon can i interrupt this is a great question one of the questions um from one of the ontario teachers was asking is are the activities eqao focused so not all of them um there will be times where we are working on skills there'll be other times where we're working on um understanding and so they're not necessarily eq focused they're curriculum focused um but i'm sure you can see eqao type questions reflected in the program thanks that's great especially i think i brought it up now just because you showed the practice pages perfect thank you so that's one thing that's going to differ in grade 3 than it did in grade 2 so the exit ticket what sorry one more thing miranda can you as you go through talk about anything that can be like um the print button because some people are starting to ask about um having things available in a google doc or be able to use it for sure so if i click on the practice and it comes up um i'm able to print it or download it so for the pdf and the word docs you're able to print and download um but if i'm looking at the activity card itself i'm also able to print it so you always have that option this little green print button in the bottom corner and of course these student cards will be available but also the math mats will be in there now currently you see it says draft material we are um always continuing to refine um and adapt some of these just based on feedback and so they may not look exactly like this come the fall but pretty close one last question miranda again we're getting um questions about google classroom google classroom integration um this is maybe talk about this as a teacher tool and then teachers use what they need to then download and adapt or however they need to adapt it for their own google classroom brightspace whatever they're using absolutely so if we are in september back in a situation where we need to be able to deliver some of this in a google classroom or another student-friendly platform what you're able to do is if you download um the practice pages or the word version if i click on the word version it will actually download right to my laptop and then i'm able to modify it as i need to and then share it with students this is a teacher platform so there is no student login you take what you need and then you share it with your students as needed the other piece that would be really helpful i think if we continue to um have distance learning or even if we go back into the classroom is the interactive tools they've been really helpful so we've attached different interactive tools where you can go in and use the counters or you might use the array itself where you can drag the array and change the amount of counters and so you can have you can be showing this either while you're projecting your screen or in a classroom where you might have a conversation about how many counters and so you can remove that sentence or you can add it in and you might have conversations about the math that way as well so i found that to be really helpful and so you can use that as you project your own screen or as you are using um this in a classroom so the assessment component is similar to grade one and grade two i haven't uploaded my class in here yet but as you see the little number in front indicates the class that i've built so in this case cassius is grade two but jeff is grade one um and i'm able to drag and drop students as i see them displaying different behaviors and strategies so here in the blue you'll see the behaviors and strategies as well as a visual representation almost always if not an example of what a student might say so you've got quotation marks for possible student answers as well as some drawings you're able to highlight or click on whichever students you saw displaying that behavior and you can even add an additional note something that you saw muhammad do specifically that you want to make note of and then you can click on the next steps and it will give you a suggestion for a next step in the moment so things you may want to ask and things you might want to do and so all of those will be in there as well you can always drag and drop them one at a time as well and if you click on the next steps there's always one there for you sometimes it'll be even a more in-depth next step in which case will direct you to another lesson in this case a grade two lesson that might help you address this particular concept to help move this student forward or along that progression of understanding so you always have those options here one thing that you'll find that's different than the grade two is that this one this activity this assessment will carry over multiple lessons we know that students aren't able to consolidate multiplying uh one digit numbers in a very short amount of time and that you will use multiple lessons so any lessons that apply to multiplying one digit numbers will share this same assessment and so if today i did my very first lesson on multiplying one digit numbers and tomorrow i did another one where we continued that learning these students will be present as i move into another assessment chart in addition we have related resources and so here similar to grade two we're going to have many lessons an intervention and an extension where you're able to see a mini lesson that can be used with students here in the left-hand corner again printable you'll also have possible misconceptions and then next steps at home so if i click on this you'll have a letter to parents where they can continue some of this learning at home and again that green print button is there available for you we'll also have word wall words currently we don't uh we actually do have them all up but the related lessons have not yet been tagged they will become the fall there's also professional learning opportunities here you see a learning connections video where we talk about how um multiplication and division develops across the grades it's a five minute video i'll give you a peek of that because it is ready um but the learning highlights videos the ones that connect to each and every lesson those will be coming after the fall they're in progress as we speak so give you a peek of this video um just to show you how it progresses over or sorry across the learning progression oh sorry i was trying to make it bigger not cancel it here we go what do you notice what do you wonder suppose someone said 369 what might you be counting in this video we'll explore the learning pathway for the big idea quantities and numbers can be grouped by and partitioned into units to determine how many or how much outlined in pearson's learning progression several mathology activities such as this grade 2 math everyday card support students in developing conceptual meaning of multiplication and division and fluency for computation the important concepts that support the big idea are developing conceptual meaning and fluency of multiplication and division when developing a conceptual understanding of multiplication and division students begin with equal sharing problems to ten your students might begin by grouping objects into twos fives and tens as they develop fluency increase the number of objects to share to 20 and eventually to 100 for example in this grade 2 activity students share items equally with friends when sharing 25 painted rocks with five friends notice how your students share the rocks equally do they use a marker to number off the friends and then label one rock at a time with the five numbers until they run out of rocks or do they give a few rocks to each person at a time some students may benefit from using actual rocks and then modeling the act of equal sharing another meaning of multiplication and division can be all right so i'm not going to play the whole thing but you get a sense of how it develops over time and so those big idea videos or learning connection videos are attached to each and every lesson just the same as grade one and grade two so before i go into the planning section i do want to show you how to teach using a little book today we'll go into planting seeds and so that's one other way that you're able to search so here i find planting seeds there's my grade three story i can click on it and exactly the same way that the activity was laid out the little book is two so currently you have access to the little books they're already all uploaded but again like i said the activities will not be available until the fall so here you see about the story you've got a reading level if you want to use it in a literacy program you also have the math focus the curriculum that's going to be tagged hasn't been yet but it will be and then the learning progression highlighted as well the focus that's going to be addressed by using this story as you go into the details tab here you're able to access the story itself so for those of you that are looking to share with your students you can share this link in your google classroom and then the students have access to be able to read and listen this is a great feature to help differentiate for those students that may need a little bit of extra support they can go in and have the story read to them so here i can click on the audio button and it will play gardens are places of peace and wonder we can watch plants use the sun rain and soil to grow right in front of our eyes planting seeds creates a connection to mother earth that feeds our bodies minds and hearts so you get a sense of the little stories and then you also have an accompanying activity that goes with each one of the stories and so again that um option to have the story the instructions read to them if that's needed so if i go back here we see a little note about what you might want to encourage students to do along the way as well as some questions you may ask before you get going so you may take some of these questions reword it for yourself and use those in your google classroom as well or maybe another platform that you might be using in the related resources you have access to all the line masters so a few line masters i want to point out every story has a connection to home and school in a pdf and in a word document so here you're able to scroll down and this is the exact same one that's been tagged on the at home page that i showed you earlier today so a letter that you might send um to parents or to kids that they might use with their parents or guardians as they're at home continuing to learn this story another one that you might have in here is other ways to think about that mathematics so you've got a way to design your own garden and record what you planted using words and numbers you have some supports here at the bottom if you need them but of course all these are modifiable and you can change them as you need to and in grade three the last line master is always a problem line master that accompanies the story so here you have a variety of different problems um as somebody asked about eqao many of these problems will be reflective of questions that might be asked during provincial testing and so those are all available in the additional options as well miranda can i add a little bit of information here from some of the questions that are coming out for sure yeah that's great so one of the questions is is this free um the mathology.ca and the little box right now are open access until the end of june that miranda showed earlier in the powerpoint so for a couple of weeks they still are but then after that everything that miranda is showing is accessible through mathology.ca or through the purchase of the print and little books which miranda will show in a minute but and then the other question goes back to um a question about the mathematics about how mythology supports rigor and transference of skills and so this question comes out of figuring out how mathology grade 3 will help me teach a combined 3-4 and so miranda at the beginning talked about the learning progression and so all the activities are built upon a learning progression and so the activities underneath them that you don't necessarily see in the activity is that learning progression that moves the mathematics thinking along to more and more efficient strategies and deeper and deeper ideas of mathematics the other aspect i don't know if miranda if you can show a teacher card absolutely and show um because i was answering questions so i'm not quite sure exactly what features you talked about here are your grade two teacher card or you're looking at the grade three one uh just for the what to look for probing questions yeah absolutely whichever way you wanna look at it that way i'll just look at the very first one so every one of them is set up the exact same way so when you're looking at the details tab you'll have the instructions before what to do how to differentiate that's the same in grade one two three um the consolidation supports are always there the what to look for is things that you might look for as your students engage in some of these activities and some probing questions questions you might ask along the way to help uncover some of that student thinking yeah and so when we think about rigor in mathematics these probing questions are not the same on every single activity these probing questions really get at children's understanding thinking and for the teacher to understand the student thinking to bring about those big ideas the same with the the section of what to look for they're not the same in every activity they are based on the learning progression and big ideas and mathematics to move those along and the same with the consolidation section it really helps to think about what is it as a teacher i need to focus on to bring about those big ideas in mathematics and bring my students along and when we think about rigor and transference of skills that's where that assessment section comes in really handy because i can see where my students are at i can see exactly where they need to go to and right in there if i click next steps it tells me as a teacher what is my next best move most likely for the student you may have a student that maybe that doesn't necessarily work for but it certainly gives me a really good menu to jump off at and take a look at is this what my student needs or a little something a little teeny different rather than picking from you know a whole barrel of things and so um there's aspects in here that are put intentionally to move students along that continuum and to bring about that rigor and the transference of skills as they go through the grades and so you know this is the grade three portion and so yes when you're thinking of three and four we will have a four to nine continuum um technically back to school september 2020 uh i think it we've just gone through the last revisions uh half an hour ago um so when the four to nine learning progression comes out that will also help in that transference from grade three to four until we have that four to six solution out so hopefully that answers that question sorry for taking a long time without no problem no problem so the last thing i'm going to talk to you guys about is the plan and so we have a lot of combined grades in here i'm going to talk about the plan um in here currently we only have a grade 2 plan so i'm gonna use that as the sample here in your samples if you scroll down you're gonna have sample plans and this will hold true in grade three as well um but for now we just have grade one and two in here so i'm gonna use grade two as an example we've got long range planners so i'm going to click on that and you can see at a glance uh your full year all the cards all the books that you might use and you've got them all available up to june now if i decide that this is the sequence that i like and makes sense for me um i'm going to use this as my sample plan i'm going to call it miranda 2020 2021 um just helps me keep organized once i adopt it as my own plan you'll see that i'm able to now edit you've got the pencil i can change the name i can change the order perhaps i don't want to start with counting i want to start with number relationships and so if my computer wasn't so sleepy it would do it instantly but you'll see that it will move in just a second so here same thing works here i might want to start with a book and then not use another book for a little while the thumbnail is what tells me if it's a book or if it's a card and so i can drag and change the sequence um just by letting go and so it should update in just a second so you'll see that it moves another way to move it is by using the arrow so an additional feature by talking to teachers especially in grade three we heard them say well how will i know when i complete a lesson and so we've added in this function of being able to check off once you've completed a lesson and so you'll see if i just do a refresh nope now it updates oh i gotta go back in there we go so you'll see as i click off lessons it should reflect in my count so it changed from zero to one if i complete another one it it'll change from one to two and so i know and i'm better able to keep track of what i've already completed versus what i uh need to do now the best part is going to be for this combined grade teacher so if you go in you actually have access to all grades so we'll use a grade one two as an example here but of course this will apply when you get grade three if i had a grade one two and i adopted grade two as my plan i can then go in and search for grade one lessons to add into my plan so perhaps i want to add in um in the strand of number and activity that helps me work on maybe skip counting i see the activities that are here and i can drag them and drop them into my plan the same way and so now i've got a combined grade 1 and grade 2 for the needs of the kids in my class and i can also add non-mathology lessons so if i'd like to i can add in other word documents or pdfs or videos that make sense for me and so when i'm set and i'm happy with my plan i'm able to export it to a doc and it will have all the plan all the details that i've written in perhaps i've written a note that will be included and i can export that to a doc the other thing that's really helpful is that i can share with a friend or a colleague i should say um sometimes your colleagues are your friends for sure so you can share it with them all you need is their uh email and you're able to share the plan so perhaps with my teaching partner i worked on building september and they worked on building october we can share across our plans um all i need to do is add in their email and so as long as they have an account and i have an account we can share between each other and so that's the planning portion and hopefully you can see how easy it is to just add in another grade so that you're able to work on that same idea alongside and so that filtering system really helps you get there so i'm going to go back here and of course it's an automatic save so if i exit this and i come back to my plan it'll it'll save it okay so that is it for grade three um i'm gonna go back to here so i'm going to give you a second to go back into the chat i've been talking so much i do want to quickly wrap up but i want you to think about what might be helpful to you in mythology you've seen a lot of things here today this is probably the first grade three one that we've done so there's a lot to talk about and a lot of things that we want to highlight so of course i know there's lots of pieces but think about what may be helpful to you in um the fall and also if you have any suggestions things that you think might be missing um we always take feedback and we're constantly revising and editing so if you have things that you think are amazing and that you love to use or things that you think would be a great add-on please feel free to add that in the chat as we continue to go i'm gonna i've got about five slides and then we're all done so a quick recap we've got the little books and they include indigenous perspective they've got uh letters from the author that are included in there as well to help us have a better understanding of the teachings um from an indigenous perspective in addition all of them have been adapted for french immersion and so here you'll see that they've been adapted and not translated and so that's really important to us that um we haven't just gone and done a straight translation and so we wanted to make sure that it reflects the names the locations and the language used in canadian classrooms mathology.ca you're able to quickly search through keywords curriculum and learning progression you'll be able to have support with plans um you can use the sample long range plans that of course will be available come the fall for grade three you can add and remove those lessons to help support you with combined grades and then you're able to download and share actually i should have that in there as well it will support you with teaching in school or at home and i hope you see the use of the interactive tools and the easy ability to print or download things that you might want to share with students you can use the little books or the projectable cards or the interactive tools and again you've got support with many lessons and practice for students as well the differentiation component both in the little books and the activities are seen through the line masters through the ability to read and listen to the stories um accommodations and extensions right there in the notes of the lesson itself you've got the double-sided cards for access to that mathematics and then the mini lessons and then the assessment i used i'm going to show you a grade 2 right here but you saw the grade 3 and i didn't go into analytics today but it does work by providing you a snapshot of your whole class in a class view and in a student view so that you're able to see how your class is doing and how each individual student is doing along a sort of red light green light yellow light system so you have a better sense at a quick glance how they're doing on particular concepts and then professional learning here we saw a quick peek of the video and there will be accompanying lesson by lesson videos as well that will come shortly after the fall so mathology.ca has got a lot of stuff in it we showed you today access to the books the activity cards the student cards the videos the line masters the interactive tools when you register for mathology.ca you've got access to every grade so when grade three comes in the fall um you will have access to k one and two as well um so you've got a value of over twenty five hundred dollars and you're paying 140 for one year and so i'll let paddy just talk about the last slide and then we're good to go so actually miranda before you do that i know we're gonna just uh do a little bit but um there's some things coming in so if people participants can just pop in specific things that they like you know user-friendly sharing with colleagues being able to use the activities for purposeful practice that they're actually built in so if participants could just pop in there what they specifically liked and just talking about this is a lot of information and so what we'll do is uh later in august there will be a getting started with mathology uh dot ca specifically uh for september but the other thing is part of my role is supporting boards and implementations and so i work with your math consultant and administrators uh providing professional learning and so when districts purchase this um professional learning comes alongside that and so um you get help uh right from the get-go and then individual schools if they purchase this then we have more open webinars like this we had a whole spring series this year by grade and come fall we'll have some some other supports too so um i think that's it some people are asking about pricing so maybe patty can come on there we go here we go patty and kim well i'm i'm talking about the pricing can you go into q and a because there's a question there that yeah thank you so yeah you've seen uh the value that is built into mythology dots and um if you're in a position to purchase now now is a good time because we have a buy now and save um that's good until july 15th and so um miranda talked about the fact that there's a 140 per teacher per year license and there's also a five year license that that saves you a bit of money as well so those two options are for mathology.ca we know that going into the fall um there is there is an opportunity and a chance that we'll be back in classrooms we're hoping we're hoping or it could be a modified um summing class some at home and so mathology.ca plus the print um resources are a really good option um for whatever situation we find ourselves in in the fall um so we do have um special pricing now on digital and print options and what i'll recommend because we've shared a lot with you here um the last slide we share will be your local pearson representative if you have questions about pricing and options when we get there um they will they'll be able to reach out and help you with that so thank you and so we often get this question i know that you've got the buy now and save um of course if you buy now and you're looking for grade three then you'll get access to grade two in the meantime get to know the platform play around with it and then when grade three is uh put in there then you'll already have access right patty that's right perfect okay so uh last thing i want to talk to you about is um our twitter page we have lots of tips and suggestions that are going up there every day especially if you're a grade two or two three um and of course that you can share with your colleagues and then come grade three and any news that we have about grade three will be shared that way in addition to many other ways um so that's a great way to keep on top of things and so patty mentioned this last page about who to contact for more information take a second to either screen grab this slide or take a photo so that you're able to reach out to whoever you need to in order to get a little bit more information so thank you so much for joining us today i know it's a ton of information um and we are always learning and figuring out better ways to show you so if you're able to give us feedback um we welcome it if kim you can go ahead and put the chat yes am i muted no i need to have it right here yep perfect um so we're always looking for feedback we know it's a lot of information especially when it's new um but we are looking for different ways to to make these webinars better um for you and for your colleagues so thank you so much for joining us today kim thank you so much for the chat and anyone else who is helping out in the chat i haven't seen it yet so i don't know who else is there but thank you so much to everyone who helped answer a question thank you to everyone who participated and asked those questions uh we learn more every time and miranda it's patty i'm just going to add as well um the questions come come up a number of times we did go really fast there's lots of questions in chat if we didn't get to your question we will be following up with you with a recording of this webinar so you can watch it again at your leisure and maybe more slowly and we'll reach out and answer any questions that we didn't get to today so thanks for your patience
