Intro so what is mythology mythology is a series of math resources that kind of come together that incorporate both professional learning some print materials and some digital materials it is a K to 8 program and right now we're working through K to 3 and we will continue up the grades as we do more research through Canadian classrooms with classroom teachers and it's really to help you identify where your students are how to know what they know and how to help you identify next steps to move them forward so it's really grounded in engaging students either through stories or through print materials or even through digital materials that allow them to really build those math skills and also build confidence through a love of course learning and mathematics it will help of course enrich some instructional strategies and add some more tools into your pocket and of course all of it's been adapted for French immersion it's hard to see right at the bottom but all of these materials have been adapted not translated with French teachers from across the province to help make sure that this makes sense for our context so across the top you'll Classroom Materials see the classroom materials and so on the far left you see the mythology little books there are 72 little books from k23 that address number and all the other strands and there are going to be a series of fiction and nonfiction little books and they all live in mythology dossier and that's where we're gonna do the walkthrough today we also classroom activity kits grade 1 & 2 physical so far as well as living in CA and grade 3 is coming and I'll give you a little sneak peek as what that looks like coming up in September the bottom row is really all about supporting us as teachers so for professional learning supports we've got the research document on the left-hand side that's the mathematic success for all document that really helped us ground the concerns of teachers across planet as far as mathematics goes and that's available on our website the learning progression we'll also talk a little bit about that that's what all of our materials are grounded on it's basically a trajectory of how students learn mathematics from k23 across various different big ideas in the center you'll see the professional reap learning resources that you may already be familiar with taking shape what to look for for K to 3 or K to 2 you've got the facilitators guide for what to look for as well as Vanderwall and teaching back with meaning with capybara pen and then of course all of this is supported by into implementation support so things like webinars but also could be face-to-face to support you in understanding how you might use bass ecology and what pieces might work best for you so we know that the math teaching Math Teaching Journey journey is really complex and it's time-consuming and there it's a very iterative process it doesn't just live along this path and especially today where we're really going to be thinking about the short-term planning and the teaching how we're gonna support our students in times like this so today we're really gonna focus in on how we can sort of leverage some of these materials but know that they are meant for in a classroom but we'll just think about how to pivot in a situation like this so math ology dot CA is an online Mathologyca tool that incorporates both the little books and the activities and I'm going to show you a few examples of some of those that are available in dot CA it's all aligned to Canadian curriculum and it's layered on with that learning progression that I mentioned and I'll show you that more in depth as we go through the five key functionalities are really there to support you today I'm gonna walk through some ways to search for lessons how to plan how to teach with some of those lessons how to keep assessment and tracking and some professional learning opportunities so we'll go right in and take a quick look before I go in I do see the chat lighting up Kim do we have any question that I can address before I jump in so I just asked if I could type in what they teach so we do have like a couple of grade three for teachers some kindergarten so when you're talking can you talk about maybe some ways if they've got the subscription to to think about those other grades even though the cards are only for grade 1 & 2 okay sounds good no province that's great you okay so you'll notice here on the main landing page that mythology is the teacher tool it's a k1 and 2 resource currently in English grade 3 coming in the fall and then for French there's also a French platform version available and that has K and grade 1 lessons and little books and you're able to click here for more information when you're even outside of the platform it's it'll be the first panel that you see before you sign in I've already signed in and I'm getting me using my Ontario teacher account to guide us through but know that each one of these will be adapted for your own individual provinces so we're gonna begin with searching so in order to search there are three main ways that you can search you can search using any keyword maybe you're working on patterns and I can search and see that I have a hundred and forty-one results I might narrow it down to either K one or two and for our grade three teachers you might go and take a quick peek at grade two to get a sense of what it might look like in Grade three and you can use and adapt and extend some of those activities I can narrow it down by the grade I can also narrow it down by types I briefly mentioned that there are little books and there are activities we also have consolidation components and intervention components that are in there as well which are pretty self-explanatory as far as strands you'll have the five key strands there that you can narrow it down patterns for example do show up in number and they also show up in geometry but in this case perhaps I want to narrow it down even further to patterning and maybe I only want to look at books and now I see that I have three results in grade two for patterning those little books right away you'll always see a little quick snapshot before you click into any of those books that gives you a quick overview I'll go back and show you how to search in another way maybe you're not sure what keyword you'd like to use you can always go in and show all the less since in this case you'll see everything that's available in there we've got 388 different results that means that there are either a combination of little books or activities 388 of them and you'll probably want to narrow it down a little further from there and of course you can always add in a keyword to narrow it down even further can always sort by relevance by strand alphabetical or even less an order that's another way to keep narrowing down your search for many of us were looking for curriculum as a way to guide some of the selection of activities and little books that we use and so for you you might be going in and searching by curriculum in this case I've identified grade 1 and my overall expectations will be here right up front perhaps I'm looking for operational sense or maybe I'm looking for patterning in algebra and in this case I'll go to patterning I can drop down that overall and here I'll see all my specifics so if I hit the magnifying glass I'll have seven results for that particular expectation that show up and again I can filter from there the last way to search is by the learning progression and I've mentioned it a few a few times now but everything's been ordered again according to five strands and being able to identify some of those big ideas the big ideas are here for us in gray and then the conceptual threads they're kind of like sub ideas living under that big idea so when we think about numbers telling us how many and how much it also includes things like counting recognizing and writing numerals and also subitizing again if you click down you can see that learning progression being unpacked and you're able to see that this concept of applying principles of counting begins with saying the name and then as you move further down this little arrow allows you to go further down the chain or further down the progression to ideas develop along that continuum and Miranda yeah can you show how the the green the green microscope there shows that that's what's expected in that grade but then it's not highlighted if it's not part of that grade absolutely I will do that as soon as I get into the lessons okay we can go into but again like Kim mentions you can always click the magnifying glass and you'll see the three results that really work on bridging tens when you're counting forwards and backwards so again I keep using this and I haven't mentioned what it is but it's our back button it allows us to go back one screen at a time but you can always hit home and that will bring me back to the home page the last piece of this home page is my pinned activities what I've done today for ease of access for myself is that I've pinned some activities to the front page so that I can easily access the ones that I'm looking for but those live in my favorites and you'll see that I have a variety of lessons that I've decided are my favorites and I can pin them and they will end up on my front screen so right now my three pinned lessons are sitting up here so before I move on to the next piece of the puzzle do we have any questions about the ability to search always give a little bit of think time in case there's something that we can answer for you right now there's a quiz later on no I'm kidding no quizzes okay sounds good so that is search once you're a bit identified what lesson you want to do I'm gonna walk you through the components that will allow you to teach with it I'm gonna start with a little book this little book is lots of dots and I've selected it today because it is a kindergarten book and it gives you a little bit of a synopsis of what this book is all about so here we're talking about different arrangements of dots counting the dots comparing groups of dots and subitizing touching and counting those dots that's what the whole book is going to be all about again there'll be a reading level attached to this book and I'll speak to that in just a few moments we also have a math focus here you're gonna see that the main focus for this book is to subitize and count sets to ten as well as to compose and decompose to ten here in the curriculum you'll see the literacy and mathematics behaviors for kindergarten in Ontario and some problem-solving and innovating of course these have all been tagged and when the curriculum is revised and if and when it really applies we will re tag everything to make sure that it's all represents the current curriculum you also have some processes or competencies that we see across all provinces that this book might be addressing and then Kim mentioned the part of the learning progression that's being addressed with this book so in if you're using this book we're working on applying the principles of counting by saying numbers and naming the sequence starting with one and counting forward but we're also working on the decomposing component and so here because lots of dots is working 210 you're gonna see composing quantities 210 of course decomposing to five precedes it and then of course decomposing and composing to twenty would follow it in the details tab is going to give you the link to the story book so if I click on the link right under the story it'll bring me right to a link of the version of this story so here we have the option to read and listen and to try an activity so I'm going to click on the read and listen to begin we meant I mentioned the reading level that was there that's a reading level that's been identified for some students that might be able to read but know that this listen option has been built in as we don't expect most kindergartens to be able to read this no problem all of these stories have been built on that progression and so for some of our grade ones they this might be a perfect reading level for them while working on the same concept that some of their friends might be working on in class here we have the read option so if I click the button clap your hands feel the beat it's time these dots move their feet give a shape give a shout that's what dancing is all so it'll stop at the end of every page and then you can proceed using the next little arrow to go either forwards or to go backwards so you'll see that this book you can access and have the ability to read and listen and you can the students will be able to access that and I'll show you where the at-home connections are going to be let me just go back to here I'm going to Story Activity show you that the activity that goes with this so here I'm just gonna shrink my screen a little bit so you can see the whole thing at once and so this is going to be all about making 10 it corresponds to the little story and there is a teacher and parent note sitting up here in the corner to help parents and teachers understand what sorts of things do with this material again just like the little book there's the feature to be able to read to them many ways to make time and so I might get they and read the instructions and see the instructions are asking me how many read counters are there how many blue counters are there so I have to click some of the counters and make them blue I have my paint on my paintbrush is selected to blue although I could change it to a different color now that my paintbrush is highlighted I might change three of them to blue I also have a text feature that I can say now I have seven red and three blue and tuck that right under this ten frame and maybe I'll make another way to make ten I'll add another ten frame I'll turn on my pointer drag another ten out and go back to my paintbrush and paint different ones and we all know students love to make patterns so maybe they make this one zig zag and they tell me that there are five red this time and five blue so you have that option to keep adding in more ten frames you can use the pointer to drag out either one red at a time five red at a time or ten red at a time and this is just in the explore feature but there are a lot more here with modeling a member and how many that you can play around with when you have a chance we'll go back into the platform let me make my screen slightly bigger just so you can see it and then you'll have some notes for yourself for the first read and you've got related resources so after the reading and some PDFs and some Word document so all of these line masters are available both in PDF and in Word so you have the option to modify if that works best for your class so let me give you an example of one of them I use this story template here's the PDF version and so I've got just a little template available there are lots of dots there are how many dots and they can draw pictures in here and if that doesn't work for my class I can download the word version change and adapt any of this and so I can do that with any of the line masters maybe I'm playing in a board gaming and show you one more in this case we've got a lots of dots of corresponding board game Lots of Dots where students are able to take turns roll the number cube and then find and cover that number three in a row wins so that might be a really fun activity to do so I'm going to give you about two seconds just to think about the two line masters that I showed you and maybe you want to put some ideas in the chat about how you might use some of these line masters having access to mythology dots yes so this might be how you might use them in the classroom when we go back how you might use them now if you're responsible for supporting parents or if you're responsible for working with students in an online environment any of your ideas would be great because then we can share them with each other you you so we have one response the lots of dots game board would make a good independent center when we go back awesome yeah definitely I'm Miranda maybe you can talk about way is that if this if if there is a responsibility for sharing with parents and what happens if they don't have a printer oh so oh yeah definitely if if parents don't have a printer some quick little tips might be things like bingo diapers which I'm sure many of you are already familiar with you can create parents could create their own game board and even get students to create their own in the spaces so they you might create some restrictions that each box could only have a certain amount of dots and they can create their own configurations to be able to use this board at home remember you can download any of these line masters and then you can upload them onto the site that you're using to work with your students so maybe that's Google classroom or maybe that's bright space but in a place that you're connecting with some of your students in the meantime this could be a way that you could support some of those students and they could create some of their own game boards and their own versions and one of the suggestions is you can turn the lots of dots into a I have who has game as a lines on activity so even though this is a kindergarten book we can see that you can go in and find things that might be adaptable for other other grades absolutely thank you awesome ok I'm going to go back to here Learning Connections there are other related stories along that same line that will identify if it's on great for you and as you go here you'll see above grade so you'll know that these ones are kindergarten and this will connect you to the above grade component which would be a grade one story the last thing I want to show you is a professional learning video so for each one of our stories we have a learning connections video that supports understanding of counting you go through thinking about some of these stories that you might use so I'm going to give you a few seconds of this just to give you a sense of what it's all about and we do have 13 of them that are unpacking the Big Ideas this video itself is about four minutes and they all hover around five minutes so I'll give you a sense of what that's all about what do you notice what do you wonder how many dogs do you see in this video we'll explore the learning pathway for the big idea numbers tell us how many and how much outlined in Pierson's learning progression several mythology resources such as this kindergarten little book provide opportunities for students to count it in subitize one important concept in this big idea is applying the principles of counting initially when students learn to count they touch or take each item one at a time in this kindergarten little book students learn to count sets to five one two three four five as students do this they demonstrate the counting principle of one-to-one correspondence when objects are not displayed in a straight line watch for students who tell the same object more than once or forget to count one of the objects for those students providing the same number of counters as objects can help them keep track of what they've already counted by dragging over one counter as they count each object one two three four five when counting students learned that the last counting word they say so here you'll see some tips for how to support some of their students and even just walking you through some of the key components that would be impact in that learning progression so again all the books and all the activities have this learning connection video on the right-hand side to support you with some professional learning just to really get a better sense of how some of these books and activities are connected together so I'm gonna go back into my home page and I'm gonna walk us through now in activity for this I'm gonna use a grade 1 activity that I've selected earlier on today and it's for operational fluency again you're gonna see very similar features about the lesson and you'll see some content background that students might need in order to be successful and ready for this lesson you'll see the math focus the curriculum that's being addressed as well as any cross strand connections so in this case not only are we working on number but we're also working on algebra again the learning progression is going to be tagged for you highlighted in blue the component of the learning progression that's being addressed by using an activity such as this where it comes from and where it's going to when I scroll back to the top I then go Details Tab to the details tab and for those of you that are familiar with our print components this is just a mirror of our print student card and I'll show you that as we get closer to the bottom again this is set up like a three part lesson where you've got a before a during or what to do and an after where you'd consolidate some of that learning for your students and highlight some of the key learnings for them when you're in the classroom you might need to refer to some of these look fors things that you might normally you probably already have a pretty good sense of what some of the things you're looking for but sometimes they give you some suggestions of things you might not have thought of and they're there in the what to look for here we've also got probing questions for different questions that you might ask to gain a better understanding of what your students are thinking here's an image of the print version of the student card Student Cards the front of the card is going to identify the materials the big idea that's being addressed the corresponding little book that addresses the same idea as well as the focus the activity and the processes again the instructions are very similar and I forgot to mention how to differentiate each one of these lessons will have an opportunity for you to accommodate that learning extend the learning or to provide come combined grade ideas and all of these are printable on the back of the card and you have access to it digitally it's going to be the assessment components so when you're working on a lesson like this you're working on both conceptual understanding as well as fluency for addition and subtraction each one of these cards will identify a behavior or a look for and then a suggested next step that you can use to help push them into the next box or the next idea in that progression so you've got that there as well and all principal in this case there are two cards a front and a back and these are all laminated in print but again available for you here they're printable and it's just going to give you some images to work with students to have them consider the math that might be present as they look at some of these images so the dye is looking at his grocery list I'm imagine he's dead but maybe he's not he's looking at his grocery list and he needs 14 apples how many does he already have and should he grab some more so that would be just one way to keep an eye on this problem and then of course a differentiated component on the back that you'll see that can streamline some of that thinking for some of your students as well there are sometimes multi-use cards that students can use to MultiUse Cards show their thinking in this case we need attached a part part whole mat the students could use and then the final one is going to be a completed version so in this case there's a recording sheet for the math and pictures and you've got that option to see what that might look like and what materials students might be using as they work through a problem like this there's also an interactive tool very similar to the one that I showed you but here we've linked counters building blocks and pen frames as well that we saw earlier as I scroll back to the top all the line masters are going to be linked right in the material section again in a PDF or a word in this case if I click on the PDF you've got those images right there for you as a line master so that might be something that you're working with students or you're collaborating with them virtually and you've got a option to download and send some of these pictures to them that they can work with and then you can use the recording sheet as well and that they can go ahead and use to help support some of their thinking so I mentioned the learning connexion video but in addition we also have learning highlight videos and these videos accompany each one of our activity cards and I'll just give you a quick listen to one of those right here Learning Highlight Videos this one's only one minute the the learning highlight videos that accompany each one of the lessons are sitting at about one minute and they'll give you some tips and tricks and things to look for okay go rock students to talk about what they see prompt their observations with questions such as how many yogurts did mom buy altogether 13 yogurts in total how many were strawberry four strawberry yogurts so the problem can be mom bought 13 strawberry and blueberry yogurts four were strawberry how many blueberry yogurt does she buy or ask how many strawberry yogurts fish you buy for how many blueberry yogurt nine so the problem could be mom bought four strawberry yogurts and nine blueberry yogurts how many others did she buy altogether it is important that students are exposed to different problem types and not just those where the whole is unknown this will encourage students to develop more flexible strategies to solve them for more information on varying problem types see chapter 3 of Alex Lawson's book what to look for [Music] so in here you'll have suggestions of some look for us and some probing questions that you might ask but also some ways to consolidate some of that learning by asking different questions and consolidating some of those different strategies that they might use so before I move on we've now covered search we've also talked about the teach component and as well the professional learning so I'm going to pause for a moment before I move on to assessment and see if you have any questions so if there's any questions you can put them in now in with Inglis saying that the visuals are great for the e ll students oh absolutely she'll support some of our learners and I'm wondering a little bit about extending the learning for some of our students as well as accommodating because there's no formal question on there they can choose one that's just right for them and the cultural images you might just want to quickly talk about the indigenous perspective absolutely so throughout its mythology in our little books we've had and we have about 25% of the books are written with indigenous perspective in mind they are authored by Canadian indigenous authors across Canada through lots of the different provinces and there is a note there for some of our from some of our authors about how to incorporate some of those ideas so of course we're going to be incorporating indigenous perspectives through but there are specific stories that are going to be identified that will help support you as you work through some of those ideas that's great thanks all right so I'm going to move on Assessment to assessment but of course if something pops up you're welcome to put it in the chat and Kim can address that for you so in the assessment tab you're able to upload a class of students now of course to maintain privacy you're you identify the way that you're going to name your students this of course is a made up class but I've used their first name and last initial but you might choose to use their first initial last initial student number a made-up number a code name it doesn't matter that's up to you when you upload your class but once you've got your class in here this is a great way to keep track of what you're seeing as you go through this works on an iPad or on a desktop and you might just identify certain students as you see them displaying particular strategies and you can drag and drop one at a time or you can highlight a few of them at a time and say oh I saw all three of these students doing the same thing at the same time right here you have an immediate next step that allows you to address some of the needs that you can do right in the moment to help move some of that learning forward and of course if an intervention is needed you have access to that as well and it'll be hyperlinks that you can go straight to the mini lesson that will help address that particular need so you have that in there along with that there's also a comment button and you'll notice that it's automatically date stamped and it tells you a box they're sitting and this is the second box so James on the 25th of March is in the second box but if I reassess James a few days from now and realize that he's made a little bit of progress and I've moved him it'll actually date stamp the second box that he was in in order to keep track of the progress now I might make another additional note little note and I can type that in there as well and it'll keep track of that as I go you'll notice that this these four boxes reflect the back of the card and there were two concepts that we talked about the conceptual understanding and also the fluency which is the other four pieces that were the back of that card so you're able to drag-and-drop each one of them into whatever you notice for each one of those students now I mentioned that there are sometimes many lessons that you're going to be directed to in that one case that I showed you were directed to the intervention number two lesson where you've got a mini lesson some instructions and a possible practice for that student or that group of students as you've used the assessment chart to kind of create mini groups to work on some interventions or some extensions again those are all printable you've got in this case you've got a non grade for those students that are working at grade that might need a little mini lesson or a practice and you've also got an extension in there for them so for those students that are ready not beyond grade but rather to deepen their understanding of that content they're going to have an option for a mini lesson or some practice there as well again you always have that print option there for you the possible misconceptions will also be here so things to look out for even possibly before you start the lesson or that you notice as you go along that some of your students are displaying and it's going to give you some suggestions of how to write that misconception you also have some suggestions for ink and at home in here you'll see that once you're finish this lesson you might send home a note to parents or right up front you might send home a note to parents just talking about what you're working on and again when you have this print option it's all modifiable so you can go in and change any notes that you need to you've got the word wall words here key words that you might use as you go through a lesson like this or a unit like this and again related lessons on grade and should have some books as well so you've got books down here as well in the analytics as you gather Analytics assessment data and you've done a few assessments with your class you've got the option for both class analytics and student analytics so here in my demo class for grade one I can look at a quick glance of all the activities that I've completed but I might narrow it down and it might be easier for you to see it in a curriculum view what I've done is I've checked off to only show the things that I have currently assessed and I might narrow it down even further to maybe I'm only concerned about number right now in number sense I've done seven activities that meet this overall expectation for that meet this one and two that meet this one and when I drop down I can see the two lessons that I've done one on the twenty-fifth and again I did another one today as well maybe over here in counting you'll see a little more variety from other days and it works on a sort of red light green light system so you've got green light green check for on track an orange or yellow e in progress for your class and then there might be I actually don't have a red one but a red one would identify that you need some work and that might be in my grade two class for now or maybe it's in another strand let's see I haven't done any measurement patterning here we go so in patterning we're doing well on track and in progress too there would be a red status here it also identifies for me how many of my students I've assessed in this case 17 out of 18 students that I've assessed and the mode is highlighted so the majority of my students are sitting in the second box you'll notice that this mirrors the back of the activity card in this case there were six boxes um and if you want to take a closer look you can always hit view and it'll bring you right back to that assessment and you can see where all those students were if I go back to the analytics I'm going to show you the student analytics can also go in and look at each individual student so if I look at Eileen oh here's Eileen so Eileen has done a series of different assessments and for some of them she needs a little bit of attention she's sitting here in the second box if I look at some details I can see that she's having difficulty recognizing the core so I might do some work specifically with identifying the core of a pattern so that's gonna give me some good talking points when I'm meeting either with parents or with a school team just to see how I can support the student a little bit further so that is the assessment and the tracking components before I move on to the last piece which is planning do we have any questions so Miranda we have a question about gathering assessment according to mapped according to the achievement chart did you go through how is it you can show the curriculum expectations from there I'll show that here I'll narrow it down maybe I'll maybe I won't use Eileen maybe I'll use penny so if I'm in penny here at an activity view I can click on curriculum view and when I'm in the curriculum I can see which overall expectation I've done for activities under this overall expectation I think in the West they're called learning outcomes if I'm not mistaken and those are the activities that I've assessed under that particular outcome and here I've got the overall there's two that are under this particular one and so when I talk about identifying 2d shapes and 3d figures symmetry and faces of solids are sitting under this particular one does that help yes and I guess you know we've had this conversation a lot about you know yes it is mapped to the curriculum but it's not mapped to a particular province achievement chart as each province has different achievement Park charts and each province has very different expectations when it comes to evaluation yes for sure so hopefully that just gives you a little sense of how its mapped back to the overalls again you have the option to export and to print this either in a PDF or in Excel and then you can identify some more in-depth steps for how to use some of these assessments any other questions on assessment and tracking okay I'm going to jump to the Plans very last piece you've got plans and so for in here I'm gonna go to all plans we know it's important to help with a place to start and you can of course start from scratch and create your own plan and identify the lessons that you'd like but for some people they're looking for a sample plan and so in here we have grade one and grade two long range planners different options because different provinces and different school boards even start in a different way in this case I'm gonna look at option two Sample Plans and this one starts with patterns and moves into counting so maybe I've decided that this is the one for me I'm gonna use this as my sample I'll save it and now this will let me modify it so maybe this isn't perfect I just want to switch counting right up to the top I can just drag and drop it up there and if my computer wasn't working so hard all day it would instantly update for now it's taking an extra second or two you show the the other way of how to move things to just with that arrow on the left if you just want to move it down I wanna move it yep so you have the option to slide it down one move at a time again my computer's it's like sad for many hours but you see that counting's up and you've got the option to go down and up and if I jump down to say March maybe I'm working on operational fluency I click on that and I see a potential sequence of books and lessons that I might use and here we've got that lesson you'll notice I have the option to pin it I can move it up I can drag it up and change the order I might move a book further down I have that option to do so i can also write comments like don't forget it do you find counters and that'll be my reminder cuz of course i can print all of this out and then i have that with me i can add non mythology lessons things that I know that I've used over years that I'd like to add and I can add things right here as well and then I have the three dots that allow me to either share with colleagues that also have mythology CA I can export it to a doc and I can also see based on the plan that I've created what curriculum am i covering based on this plan so I always have that option there as well any questions about planning none that are coming up right away but again you know if you think of it something a few seconds after the fact just pop it into the chat pod absolutely so we've reviewed this five different Wrap Up components and I'm just gonna jump back home and go back to my screen of searching how to plan how to teach how to assess and track and some professional learning I'm gonna do a quick wrap-up because I know we're running long and I know it's a lot of information but just to really recap what's in there you've got the classroom activity kids live in mythology dossier the little books all live in mythology CA and again they're all living there on that learning progression to keep them all together if we look at grade 1 we've got English and French available and if you register you're welcome to have register as grade 1 and you'd get access to all the K books as well you've got over a hundred lessons and 34 different books to work with all aligned on the learning progression with those professional learning videos incorporated in grade 2 English is available French will be available in the fall but again we've got 185 lessons we've got another 20 math ology little book stories and of course grade three is all going to be available in the fall but that does not limit a grade three teacher from going in and checking it out right now and using some of the grade 2 materials and adapting and making sense for you in your space I thought you've got this sorry there was a question earlier more about grade 3 can you talk a little just a little bit more about What's in grade 3 and how the teacher facing materials is in mythology dossier absolutely I've got it's coming up in okay I'm gonna address the heck thank you no problems just so we all know mythology is available for a one year subscription per teacher it's specific per teacher because you're like we showed it in the assessments you're gonna upload your class and it'll track your students progress over time that's 140 dollars for the year or five years for 665 when you register you do get access to all the grades so a grade two teacher would get access to grade one and also K or that K teacher might get access to grade one as well you might register as grade one know that bundle pricing is available so if you purchasing digital components you can also bundle that with the print components currently we're offering open access for 90 days and you're welcome to go and check it out for yourself remember that grade 1 & 2 in English is available on dossier that includes the K little books and then grade 3 is coming in the fall and this is all available at Pearson mythology t8 you're going to get access to all the books that you saw all the cards and of course many more and that gives you the 90 days so that pretty much brings you to the end of year at a time like this we're also working to support parents at home with that practice component so I'm just gonna show you what that looks like and how you can already start spreading the word for some of your parents that might be looking for materials on how to support their students at home and this is specifically for k23 parents through Pearson Canada CA at home and I'll quickly go there we go to k23 we've got the English and all the French stories are here as well and you'll see the stories are there in English and in French Oh two new ones just got updated that's a new new book so as of this morning there was only two so now there's four and so there are the kindergarten books and of course lots of dots that we talked about today is available there all with a parent letter for how to connect home and schools so you can direct some of your parents already to they at home site in order to support them while they're at home with their little ones so we're updating every week and we will add another two books every week we've got grade 1 grade 2 and grade 3 and in the meantime if you're looking for some of those grade 3 materials here's a place that you can go to get started so we'll rotate each we number and another strand every week and you'll have that option there for you so Miranda there's one question about combined grade pricing and so maybe that comes into play when you put up your last slide about contact me for more information oh absolutely for sure so coming soon Coming Soon like we mentioned grade three is coming we did classroom testing all throughout the fall and it's coming in August 2020 and it was made to really focus on student engagement and addressing the dollars diversity in your classroom you noticed with that student card it was double sided same thing with grade three you're gonna have that double-sided component to really meet that diversity we really worked on how to help support teachers with time constraints with planning and needing all curriculum expectations and of course working on that growth mindset with students in math so as a grade three teacher the components live all in mythology CA all the teacher notes any suggestions will all be in mythology CA with the exact same five functionalities that you have for searching planning teaching assessing and professional learning the eighteen little books will all live in mythology CA but also available in print you've got the activity kit we'll have about 70 double-sided cards and you'll get 10 copies of every card that's available in print but of course it lives in mythology ta and then some of those math mats today I showed you the part part whole Matt but here are some other examples of the math mats that are going to be available for both grade 3 and grade 4 any questions about grade three or any of the other components so we've had some comments about great for learning from home and you know having options to use the at home website with the at home little books and and using them for teachers to share with their their parents during during this difficult time for sure absolutely I'm gonna go back just to give you a second if you have your cell phone and you want to just take a quick capture of that website you're welcome to go and start passing that out to parents to support them while they're at home with your little ones yeah and remember that when Miranda showed you the little book in mythology dossier it has all those same features it reads too and then they have access to the little online learning tools and the letters for the parents really are at home letters you know take us take a group of popcorn how many different ways can you sort it so they're not activities that were taken from the classroom and just meant to now happen at home they have always been at home activity so we hope lots of little ones get lots of fun with their parents with these absolutely alright last but not least if you do need more information and you're looking for more info please feel free to reach out to your rep all your all the locations are available here and if you have a moment you can take the photos or write down their email or their cell phone number and you can reach out and gather more information from them they're there to support you and answer any questions that you might have a bit more information about mythology but thank you so much for joining yes go ahead Ken so one of the last question is is this something we can use during the summer months so currently the free subscription is available to the end of June currently if you buy a subscription it is a subscription it's a yearly subscription it's a 12-month subscription that you use according to how you need it for your parents and your students you that's great thanks so much so I will stay on for another 5-10 minutes or so if you have any additional questions but thank you so much for joining us I know it's been a long day for some people that have been at home trying to multitask or trying to see what they can do to help support some of their little ones or their students that you're trying to reach while we're all trapped at home so say thank you so much for joining have a wonderful night and I'll be here if you have any more questions thank you and meantime I've put a quick link in the chat pod you know these webinars are for you and for your colleagues and now that you've heard it you might be able to give us some suggestions for the next time the next people that come on and again thank you for spending your evening time with us on behalf of making learning fun and exciting for your own students
