the online student etext can be accessed
from a browser on a computer or through
the Pearson e-text for Canada app on
mobile tablets it is an exact replica of
the printed student resource which means
the content on the pages has not refloat
or moved around each digital page is the
same as the printed page let's have a
look at the features across the top is a
Toolbar
toolbar with icons for navigating and
interacting with the pages you turn the
pages by clicking the forward and back
arrows or you jump directly to a page by
inputting a number in the box and
hitting Enter you can switch back and
forth from single page to double page
with this icon you can change the

magnification of the pages using this
series of icons they allow you to zoom
in and zoom out or choose fit to width
or fit top to bottom the chain icon will
show or hide links that Pearson has
placed on the pages and the projector
icon changes the view to give you more
space for the pages and you gain a pen
tool that allows your mouse to act like
a pen the left hand area contains
Folders
folders with links and documents the
first folder is the table of contents
which allows you to click to access
other parts of the book the next folder
contains links to the companion website
representing the six main topics of the
book the next folder contains help
documents and videos with information on
how to use the student etext the inquiry
folder contains a document that provides
students with inquiry activities for
each of the six main topics the next
folder contains links to the line
masters that are used throughout the
program in Word and PDF format and the
last two folders are not used in this

the text all of the images are clickable
when you click an image it opens up
large in another window this allows you
to focus more directly on the image by
removing the surrounding text as well
students can click on the bounce pages
logo when they appear on a page this
will open up a third-party website which
typically has a video related to the
content of the page
also in the top right corner of the page
students will find an icon to open the
companion website this is the curated
content from the companion website that
is directly related to the content of
these particular student book pages
