at the beginning when we first started
with Amir I knew I'm going to use it
during my reading groups and it's going
to be one of my stations if we are in
class and I know they have three
different stations Amira is such a
special thing that everyone wants to go
to my name is Miss madic I teach fourth
grade at voer Academy in Southwest
Detroit my name is desan I'm in four
fourth grade and my school is voer
Academy I used to be shy when I used to
like read to my mom when I do it I get
nervous and I start stuttering a couple
of the students they didn't know how to
even break apart the words so now when
they work with Amir they understand what
Amir is trying to help them do it's like
a type of learning platform you learn
how to read and you you learn how to
like pronounce words before I used to
have stations that during reading time
it was more games related stations so
they didn't really read in the game
stations it's in more like play time
with Amira they get to do both they read
and play so that's like a perfect F I
definitely see Improvement well at first
I was getting like a a like a two a
three and then now I'm getting like 99
97 98 now I'm reading at a like a like a
fourth grader Pace my mom even said I'm
reading like a like a kind of fifth
grader my favorite part is seeing them
feeling successful them wanting to get
better my students definitely read more
with Amir I think that's the Big M
motivator why they want to read my
favorite part of the mirror is when she
letting you pick one of her stories my
favorites are fiction they're really
engaging and they want to tell me about
stories that they read and they want to
read when is the next chapter coming of
the same book Amir has helped me be
confident because she actually teaches
us how to spell some words I actually
know the words this I think helps them
because it breaks apart sentence by
sentence which is helpful for students
and there's a personalized part of it
just kind of talks them to as a friend
so it becomes like they're having this
friend that they're reading with they
can learn from I want to be a scientist
to figure out how to cure whatever uh
cancer or stuff is happening out in the
world air is helping me by teaching us
how to be better readers and read what
we need to read in the science field and
I also think they love to read because
it becomes the private moment just for
them and a miror I don't think about it
as an AI at all honestly I was like I
know it's not a real person but it feels
like a real person that it's that is
sitting there with them and reading so
it kind of feels like they have a friend
or maybe a reading mom or reading dad
that's sitting with them and reading
with them like a reading buddy so I
don't I kind of forget that it's a AI
completely
