I am Lori France I'm the humanities instructional support specialist for Bay City Public Schools well I first saw Amir when I went to the summit for hmh in Denver a few years back and I thought this is what we need we knew that the process we were using the traditional Dr was taking up a lot of teachers times there was a lot of Subs that had to come in so instructional time was lost and looking at a mirror it looked like it had all those components that could do the assessment provide support and not take away that instructional time from the teachers so I brought it back and we were just in the process of exploring it the pandemic hit and we decided now is a good time to start with a mirror I saw the benefit in it just before the pandemic it was like the May before that I had seen it and so we were just talking through it when would be a good time when would we introduce this and then when the pandemic hit we realized we needed something for at home with the students and Amir fit that Amir is a very powerful tool for students and for teachers the reports are outstanding and very easy to read very easy to navigate being able to run those reports being able to do progress monitoring being able to go back and listen to their students reading when they can't sit with them they still do their small groups they're still interacting with all of their children it's never a replacement but it's like having another teacher in the room and then they can go and listen to what their students read the support that Amira provides is so powerful support for Amira is an email away I send an email and I get a response very quickly which then in turn gets a response and support for the teacher very quickly and that's what we need and for students it's being able to log on at home it's being able to log on during the school day it's helping them to grow and getting that individualized attention that the teacher can't always give them when you have a classroom full of students [Music]
