Laura Elizabeth Pinto
Laura earned a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) degree(1992), a Bachelor of Education degree (1994) and Master of Educational Administration degree (1998) from the University of Windsor. She is currently a PhD Candidate at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education at the University of Toronto.
Professionally, Laura has been a business teacher with three Ontario schoolboards and an instructional designer for two higher education institutions. She has also worked in the private and public sectors with positions in human resources management, policy analysis, marketing and product management.
Laura has authored and co-authored many publications, most noteably InsighTs: Succeeding in the Information Age (Nelson, 2001) and a chapter in the Work Site Alliance Manual (University of Eastern Michigan, 2000). She presents regularly at scholarly and professional conferences, and serves as the Marketing Contest Coordinator for the Ontario Business Educators' Conference(OBEA).
Janice Ellerby, B.Ed., MBA
Raised in Acton, Ontario Janice pursued a Business diploma at Sheridan College followed by a career in marketing with a multinational producer of industrial products. She completed her Bachelor of Business Management degree at Ryerson Polytechnical Institute (now Ryerson University) before deciding to pursue both an MBA and Bachelor of Education at University of Toronto.
Janice has been teaching since 1990 in the public education system in Ontario with most of these years in leadership positions in Business education departments. Janice has taught most subjects in the Business Studies area capitalizing on her experience and education.
A thirst for new learning opportunities led her to the Information Technology area in Business. Janice co-authored InsighTs: Succeeding in the Information Age, designed to meet the curriculum expectations of the BTT 10/20 course in Ontario.
Janice lives in Barrie with her husband, Rick, and is active in two concert bands playing the bassoon. She enjoys sewing, home decorating, and riding her motorcycle when the opportunity arises.
